Who we are
Miraaj Shuttle and Tours is a family-run transport business in Parow Valley, Cape Town. We are responsible for the personal information you give us. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].
What we collect
When you use the quote form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number, and whether you'd like us to WhatsApp you
- Your email address
- Your company or school name, if you give one
- Your trip details: dates, times, pick-up and drop-off addresses, a flight number if you add one, the number of passengers and luggage, and any trailer, child seat or wheelchair access request
- Anything you write in the notes
Messages and sensitive details
If you call, WhatsApp or email us, we keep the details and messages you send.
A wheelchair access request can tell us something about a passenger's health. We use it only to plan the right vehicle for the trip. Please don't put more personal information in the notes than we need for the trip.
Why we use it
We use your information to answer your quote request, to arrange and run your trip, and to contact you about it. We don't use it for marketing, and we don't sell it.
Who sees it
The owners of Miraaj Shuttle and Tours see your request. The driver doing your trip gets what they need for it, such as your name, phone number and pick-up address.
Our website is hosted by YeboDesk, which also sends the website's emails, such as the confirmation that we've received your quote request, on our behalf through Amazon Web Services' email service. They handle your information only to provide these services to us.
When the address search in the quote form is switched on, the text you type into the address boxes is sent to Google's address service to suggest matching addresses, and Google may process it outside South Africa. If you contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy terms also apply to those messages.
Apart from what's needed to run your trip, we don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for up to two years after your last trip or request, unless the law needs us to keep it longer. After that, we delete it.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete your information
- Object to us using your information
- Complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za
Using your rights
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Regulator directly.
Cookies
Our website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookies are strictly necessary ones: one for the owners' admin login, set only when the owners sign in, and possibly a security cookie from our hosting network that protects the site from abuse.
Our hosting network counts visits to the site (pages viewed, and roughly which country and device type) with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you.
